About Us

Creating a warm and playful space for you to show up as, well…you!

Here’s the thing. Organising photos can be a real headache.

Whether you’re corralling your family or your bridal party, it’s hard to get everyone to show up on time, in the right place, and feeling happy and comfortable in front of the camera. Throw a newborn or a couple of toddlers into the mix, and you’re dodging poo and spew and just trying to make it through the shoot without any tears.

At SGP, we’re not about manufactured shoots, unnatural posing or forcing people to look like they’re having a good time. Instead, we approach our services with fun. Our team has been photographing weddings and families for over ten years. Throughout that time, we’ve seen it all and learned a thing or two about getting an amazing set of images — without the awkwardness.

Our goal? To create a number of beautiful, playful and relaxed moments where we can capture some of the love and magic that brought us all here in the first place.

If you’ve made it this far, you’ve probably seen some of that love and magic reflected in our photos and want us to do the same for your family.

Amazing. We’re so happy you’re here.

 hey there

I’m Simone

I’m a Canberra local (from Tuggeranong), and I love nothing more than getting out and exploring the mountains around our local region.

I’ve been experimenting with photography since I was a kid, grabbing my parents’ cameras and snapping interesting shots, so when it came time for me to choose a career path, photography seemed like the most natural progression. I studied Visual Arts, majoring in Photomedia at the Australian National University, and graduated in 2012. I loved every minute of it.

I like to say that I was ‘gently persuaded’ into starting my career in weddings — a family friend pestered me until I complied — and I fell instantly in love. I adored being a part of a couple’s big day, from capturing each person getting ready to the anticipation-filled car ride and, finally, the teary and hilarious final speeches. I consider myself privileged to witness these momentous occasions and to see my clients through their loved ones’ eyes.

From there, I followed my couples throughout their journey as they celebrated anniversaries and grew their families. My absolute favourite thing about photography is the story I’m able to tell for my clients — presenting them with a gallery that portrays their narrative in the most beautiful way. I believe stories should be shared, so I create exquisite pieces to display and share with their families for generations to come.

If you’re considering hiring me (and my team!) for your big day or family photos, I can’t wait to meet you and hear your story.

    Senior Photographer

Hi, I’m Jeremy. Like Simone and Jenna, I’m a Canberra-based photographer with a huge appreciation for the stunning natural environment of Ngunnawal Country.

I shoot almost exclusively using traditional analogue processes: 35mm and medium format film developed by hand. My process is an essential part of my style — I see tones and shades of light before I see colour. Using film allows me to create images that digital can’t quite seem to match, and I love providing this additional service to our clients.

  • Jenna

    Senior Photographer

Hi, I’m Jenna. I’m a Scottish photographer, now based in Canberra. I love to capture the connection and fun our couples and families share, and my favourite shots are the in-between moments where I can catch them at their most comfortable selves.

I work alongside Simone on weddings, creating a time full of movement, chatting and play, which results in a gallery full of natural, happy photos of you and your family.

Kind words

“Simone is so lovely – I have officiated two weddings she has photographed and attended another. She is professional and sweet and takes such amazing shots (which I have plastered all over my socials and webpage!). She’s got such a keen eye for stunning pics and is an absolute pleasure to work with!

Highly recommend!”
